Our origin story
In 2004, Brian Franklin started DoubleShot Coffee Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It wasn't long before he realized there would be no end to the needs of people and groups in the community and worldwide. With limited resources, he determined to help out within his supply chains wherever he saw a need he could meet. Many projects have been funded over the past 22+ years through personal donations, work, and crowdfunding. Some of these include:
- A microfinance project in La Flor, Nicaragua
- Donations to Hogares Juveniles Campesinos, a children's center in Concordia, Colombia
- Soccer balls to impoverished kids in Colombia, Panama, and Costa Rica
- New water lines to a school in San Isidro, Colombia
- Paying for coffee pickers to harvest coffee for an elderly and infirm couple in Concordia, Colombia
In 2026, Franklin decided to make a more formal commitment to these projects and he started Coffee Givers, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit company. This allows us to generate a larger impact where we see needs at coffee origins by fundraising through events, experiences, and donations. We hope you will join us to learn more about coffee and to help out those in need. Win-win.
